Caleb had to basically write every post for the last week up until the other day. I’ve been freaking out. About having my first ever dog. ___ I’ve asked since I was 5 year old about a million times. Can I tell you why this has been so important to me? ___ I felt like an outcast throughout my life. I had times where I had lots of friends surrounding me, but I never really let anyone in. I had times (like in 6th grade) where I would sit alone at the lunch table. I hid so much of what was going on inside of me. I always had a big smile on from the outside and hid so much pain I was feeling on the inside. ___ I talked to my stuffed animals as a kid. I made them necklaces. 😂But I wanted a dog that could always be by my side. To fill this huge hole I was always feeling. ___ And you know what, I’m so glad I didn’t get a dog until now because what a disappointment it would have been then. Because a dog was never and will never fill that deep longing to be known, loved and accepted. Sure it can make me happy. But in no way is it a long term solution. ___ Through Jesus I’m learning to be accepted. To receive His love. To be vulnerable in my pain and joys. Through God giving me my husband I’ve learned more about unconditional love and acceptance. He’s seen me at my very worst moments and has still loves me which is a shocker to me. ___ I’m so happy to have Honey Bear🍯🐻 our puppy. She’s such a great joy in my life. A gift I didn’t need that brings so many laughs and learning. ___ But thinking about what this season is all about, that’s what is most important. What’s most important to you?
