You are more than the numbers on a scale. You are more than the amount of likes on a picture, more than if he/she texted you back or not, more than the balance in your bank account, the car you drive, the purse/shoes you have or things you own. Yes, a lot of those things can be nice, but this does not, and will not, and can not define your worth. You are more than any external thing in your life, more than what others say about you. You’re even more than your biggest failures, victories and circumstances. We all have a desperate need to know if we are loved, seen and important. It’s a driving force to many of our actions and if left unanswered, or answered in the wrong way can be, I believe the leading cause to depression, suicide, drug abuse, any many other destructive behaviors that steal life away from us and others. ___ We all make mistakes, mess things up, make bad decisions at times. Maybe you’ve been on a path for a while where it seems like one bad decision after another, or one hurt after another and there’s no hope or end in sight to that road (that was me 10 years ago, and still life gets messed up sometimes). Maybe the label “unloved” “not good enough” “not important” is stapled to your heart so strongly it seems no force could remove that label. But the thing I want you to so desperately know today (and I’m really needing reminding of) is the fact that: You are loved, You are seen, You are important. An event in history made this evident and nothing you have done, or anyone or anything done to you can take this away. “God sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him.” -1 John 4:9 “He (Jesus Christ) humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!”-Philippians 2:8. His death completely abolishes the idea that we are unloved, unseen, unimportant. You’re more than whatever is trying stealing your joy today, dear friend. You are loved beyond measure, let that truth sink in. How does it feel to hear this? Love hearing from you!
