Yesterday it was as if I was living in a fairytale land. I’m so glad I let Caleb talk me into it.
Caleb told me months ago he was throwing a small party for my Birthday and I fought him tooth and nail over it. For some reason I wasn’t in the mood to celebrate my Birthday this year, but he persisted and I said I only wanted a couple people at our “small get together.” He and his mom planned the gold, white and light pink party (my favorites) and had funny, fun ideas along the way. I wasn’t a part of most of the planning but told him I wanted to help decorate the day of because I love decorating so much. We were working all day but I had a grin from ear to ear as we transformed my mom and dad in laws back yard into a fairytale land. I had so many crazy ideas but Caleb went with it and moved the things I asked him to move and I couldn’t have felt like more of a princess in a pink birthday land with his homemade confetti all over the ground.
The food was great, the company amazing and love and laughter truly filled that backyard all night. Piñata, pin the tale on the donkey and a bonfire were some of the highlights. I thank God for the special people He’s brought into my life and so grateful that they would celebrate my 30th year together. My husband and I danced on the porch later on in the night and looking off into our land feeling so at rest, filled with joy and peace. It was one of the perfect times I never wanted to end, that felt like a dream I never wanted to wake up from. I went from not wanting to celebrate, to having renewed hope thanks to my husband, friends and family speaking love and worth over my life.
What’s a night you never wanted to end? Love to hear from you!
