Little mermaid 🧜♀️ was one of my favorite movies growing up, and swimming with seals/sea lions in the coves of La Jolla is one of my very favorite things to do. I love looking at all the fish below me, and watching the sea lions swim right under me. I was on the swim team from the time I was 6 through High School. I taught swim lessons, was a swim coach, and lifeguard for years. Growing up I think I might have been in the water more than out of the water in the summers. I would spend hours at practice and then swimming around my grandparents pool. There’s something so peaceful for me about being in the water. My cares leave and I’m filled with such child-like joy. Caleb has learned how to swim better (after me teaching him some things 😉 ) since we’ve been married. He even took this picture with our iPhone when we were pretty far out in the ocean! 🌊 I appreciate him being brave and adventuring all the times he’s snorkeled with me. We took a break for a while after he saw a rather large shark when were snorkeling in Malibu. But any chance we get when we’re near La Jolla he snorkels with me. These are some of my most cherished memories, and I really do feel like sometimes life is better sometimes under the sea 🧜♀️ (And sometimes I hum that song as I swim). What’s something you love to do that brings back child-like joy and wander? Love hearing from you!
