There is something magical about the sunrise that always makes us go back for more. Aside from he obvious benefits of getting your day started, no traffic, and basically the whole world to yourself at that hour, sunrise is one of the most beautiful parts of the day. We love traveling to new places, and in Southern California, you have to be willing to get up early if you want any chance of truly experiencing something on your own or with little amounts of people around. Our last week of the summer we woke up 3-4 times to go and adventure as the sun rose in order to get all the time in the day together, and to fuel the fire of romance in the morning. This week, we really missed being on the same schedule, going at our own pace, and being able to create as freely as we would want to. And the struggle can be hard at times, the daily grind to provide is always something that can weigh us down. It is so easy to get caught up in all of that, and trust me, we get caught up in it as much as the next person. But knowing that there is a bigger purpose behind what we are doing, and that God is providing greatness in the midst of it all, is so comforting. I love these verses from Matthew, “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”
They remind me that there is no need to worry, God is faithful and will provide. And I’m confident in the fact that there will be many sunrises and beautiful experiences ahead.
