Have you ever felt like you've been stuck in a pit? My sophomore year of college the feeling of being stuck in a pit was overwhelming I was holding so much pain in my heart, my circumstances didn't looks so bad on the outside but I felt so purposeless on the inside. After this year God was urging me to make changes, for me to draw near to Him. After I gave my life to God that year this verse spoke something to my heart and soul: "He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in Him.” Psalm 40:1-3 I've been in pits since this time. Disappointments, rejection, deaths and sorrows have felt overwhelming at times. But then I look back and remember what God has done in the past for me and others and I'm encouraged that He would get me out of the pit again. Now being with God, He can use even those hard things for something beautiful. I encourage you today, that if you feel in a pit to cling close to God. He is good at all times in every season.
